Arrest made in connection with shooting at Dreams

GREENWOOD, SC – An arrest has been made in connection with a shooting that occurred at Dreams nightclub last Wednesday morning.

According to a report from the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office, police were dispatched to Dreams, located at 2408 Hwy 72/221 E, in response to a call about a fight at the club. As officers were arriving, dispatch advised them that shots had been fired and there was possibly someone injured. Security at the club confirmed that someone had been shot and also told police that the victim was on the way to the hospital in a personal vehicle.

According to the report, a security guard at the club told police that there were several arguments, one of which resulted in a fight. The guard told police that the fighting individuals were taken outside. The guard then saw a large crowd gathering outside and heard gunshots. The guard then saw an individual being loaded into a car that then sped off, according to the report.

The report states that, due to the rain and mud, police were unable to locate any shell casings or other evidence.

Through the course of the investigation, police learned that Tashonda Demetrius Rapp, 29, of 623 Greene Street, was involved in the incident. She has been charged with breach of peace of a high and aggravated nature. Her bond was set at $25,000 cash or surety.

1) There is an ongoing investigation into the incident and she could end up charged with attempted murder, along with several other charges.

2) The Solicitor does not set bonds. Bonds are set by a magistrate judge. And attempted murder charge sometimes gets a bond set and other times denied, depending on the situation.

Just shut this place down! If a business owner cannot control the drugs and violence, then why as taxpayers do we have to ? The police have to go to this place constantly, and it wastes resources in other areas of town.

So in this town if you shoot someone you only get charged with "Breach of Peace"... and you only get a $25K bond???? Sounds to me like she should have been charged with Attempted Murder and not had any bond set.

I thought our new solicitor was going to put an end to criminals having a swinging door on the jails around here... I guess it was all just political talk to get elected.
