Police investigating armed robbery
Thanks for reading GwdToday - Everyday!

The Greenwood Police Department is investigating an early morning armed robbery that turned into a multi-agency chase up Hwy. 25.

According to officials with GPD, a male suspect robbed a female at gunpoint just after 4 a.m. Monday morning at Phoenix Place Apartments. Police were dispatched and a BOLO or 'Be On Look Out" was issued for a light-colored Dodge car.

Officers spotted the vehicle and began to pursue it in Uptown Greenwood. The vehicle did not stop and GPD officers continued the pursuit until they reached Deadfall Road.

According to GCSO officials, county units picked up the pursuit and pursued the vehicle up Hwy. 25 N. to Ware Shoals. Ware Shoals police continued pursuit, but were unable to stop the vehicle, officials said.

GPD is investigating the incident. Anyone with information should contact GPD investigators at 864-942-8406.
