Police have charged a man in connection with the attempted burglary of 18 Uptown Greenwood businesses that occurred over the weekend.
Investigators say they have charged 24-year-old Devin Leif Coppella of Greenwood in connection with the attempted burglary of some 18 Uptown businesses. Coppella was arrested last Sunday for begging after being seen walking around in the Uptown Greenwood area which led investigators to question him about the attempted break-ins. When questioned, Coppella admitted to attempting to break in to 17 businesses in Uptown Greenwood, according to investigators.
Investigators say that they have charged Coppella with 18 counts of second degree burglary. Coppella appeared at a bond hearing Wednesday morning. His bond was set at $50,000 cash or surety.
