Thanks for reading GwdToday - Everyday!

A teen was arrested Wednesday night after police say he fired shots from a .22 caliber pistol while driving down Edgefield Street.

According to a report from the Greenwood Police Department, police were dispatched to Edgefield Street at about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday night after receiving reports of shots being fired from a pickup truck. While en route, police spotted the vehicle on First Street and pulled it over in the Burger King parking lot. The driver, later identified as Keith McBeth Kwarsick, 18, of 106 Trafalgar Square in Greenwood, initially told police that he was coming from the Rite Aid.

According to the report, Kwarsick changed his story twice about where he was coming from when police said they had been following him since he was on First Street. A .22 caliber pistol was located in the driver’s side floor board of the truck. Kwarsick initially told police that it belonged to his grandmother and then told them that he got it from a friend. Kwarsick denied shooting the gun. Police found 15 unspent .22 caliber rounds in Kwarsick’s pocket.

According to the report, witnesses told police that they observed Kwarsick driving his truck down Edgefield Street before pulling out a pistol and firing three shots over the top of the truck. Multiple witnesses reported hearing three gunshots.

Kwarsick was arrested and charged with unlawful carrying of a pistol and discharging a firearm within city limits.

I personally have witnessed Gwd police officers stop this boy twice. Once in the courthouse parking lot, he was passed out from drug usage. The police didn't even search him even though the kid couldn't even stand up. He was cursing them and daring them to 'touch him or he would kill them'. They just called his mommy to pick him up. The second on Gary Road. He was sitting on the side of the road smoking weed. Again...they just called his mommy to pick him up. If someone had done their job, maybe this wouldn't have happened. Someone could have been killed.

when being gangster goes bad! Are any of those charges a felony? This kid shouldn't ever be allowed to touch a gun again.
