Stolen pistol found during traffic stop

A pistol stolen from Ware Shoals was discovered during a traffic stop in Hodges early Tuesday morning.

According to a report from the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office, an officer spotted a black Nissan Sentra on Morgan Road shortly after 1:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. The vehicle crossed into the opposing lane several times. The tag on the vehicle was registered to a Kia. The officer initiated a traffic stop and found that the driver, identified as Natasha Dawn McDonald, 39, of 204 Downs Rd., had a suspended license.

According to the report, there were two other passengers in the car. They were asked to exit the vehicle while officers took an inventory. During the inventory, officers discovered a loaded .380 caliber pistol. One of the passengers, identified as Terrence Oneil Frazier, 23, of 1520 Shirley Rd., told officers the gun belonged to him and that he had found it. Officers ran the gun through NCIC and discovered the weapon was stolen from Ware Shoals. Officers also discovered that Frazier was a convicted felon and not allowed to own or possess a firearm.

McDonald was charged with driving under suspension. Frazier was charged with felon in possession of a pistol and possession of a stolen firearm.
