Gray Court man charged with trafficking ice
A Gray Court man was charged with trafficking ice along with other charges after agents responded to drug complaints on Callison Highway.

George L. Bryan Jr., 50, of 510 Curry Lake Rd., Gray Court, has been charged with trafficking ice, possession of firearm during the commission of a violent crime and simple possession of marijuana in connection with the incident.

According to a Greenwood County Sheriff's Office report, agents with teh Greenwood County Drug Enforcement Unit responded to 328 Callison Hwy. after receiving several anonymous complaints about drug activity at the residence. When agents approached the house they observed Bryan burning unknown contents in a barrel. When Bryan saw agents approaching he took off running through woods adjacent to the property.

According to the report, agents were able to catch Bryan and apprehend him without incident. When asked why he ran, Bryan said he had some marijuana in his pants pocket and got scared. Dispatch advised agents that Bryan had tow outstanding warrants from S.C. Highway Patrol for trafficking ice and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime in connection with an earlier incident in which Bryan was allegedly caught at a checkpoint with 43 grams of ice and a firearm.
