Greenwood man charged with robbery
A Greenwood man has been charged with strong arm robbery after authorities say he and two other men assaulted a teen and stole his wallet.
Keldon Julius Greenwood, 20, of 1318 E. Durst Ave. Apt. D-2, has been charged with strong arm robbery in connection with the incident.
According to a report from the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a residence on Trafalgar Square just after midnight on June 6 after receiving a call from a woman who said her son had been beaten up and his wallet stolen at the residence. When deputies arrived, they found the victim in the yard pacing back and forth. He was not wearing a shirt and had dried blood on his face and arm. The victim said he ran into Greenwood and another man while at Wal-Mart. Greenwood and the other man asked for a ride home and the victim agreed to take them.
According to the report, Greenwood and two other men asked the victim if he knew where to get any “blow,” referring to cocaine. The victim said he knew where to get some, but he could not get it for them. The victim said Greenwood grabbed him around his neck and took him to the floor. Once on the floor, another man hit the victim in the nose. Deputies retrieved an empty wallet from one of the men. The victim said the wallet had his driver’s license, an insurance card and $100 in cash inside, all of which were missing.
