WARE SHOALS – A Hodges man is facing multiple charges after police executed a search warrant at a Ware Shoals home and discovered more than nine ounces of marijuana.
According to a report from the Ware Shoals Police Department, police executed a search warrant at a Ware Shoals home where they located Michael Dante Frazier, 25, of 1520 Shirley Rd. in Hodges, and another woman just after 8 p.m. Monday night. Police found approximately 9.5 ounces of marijuana in multiple plastic bags inside a book bag, a box of sandwich bags believed to be used in the distribution of marijuana, a set of digital scales, a box of blunt cigars and more than $800 in cash.
According to the report, Frazier claimed responsibility for the marijuana and told police that he had been selling marijuana because he could not find a job. Frazier also told police that he knew he would not be able to get out of the charges.
Frazier has been charged with manufacturing marijuana within proximity of a school, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and unlawful possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person convicted of violent offense. He is currently awaiting trial for charges of distribution of cocaine base and possession with intent to distribute marijuana stemming from a Jan. 2012 incident.
