The Greenwood County Election Commission Board of Voter Registration met Friday morning, discussing upcoming elections in Ware Shoals.
The main order of business dealt with the cancellation and combination of the Ware Shoals Municipal Election. According to Connie Moody, Director of Voter Registration and Elections, the Ware Shoals Municipal Election scheduled to be held on June 4th was cancelled, and has been combined with the election that will be held on July 2nd, from 7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. Filing for the election will open on April 17th and will close on May 1st.
In other business, precinct lines and locations for the upcoming elections were unanimously approved. After reviewing the current policies of the election, members of the board agreed to further discuss the polices at their next meeting.
“This is a working document,” Moody explained. “There is nothing in the document that is set in stone and it can be changed.”
Preparations for the Ware Shoals Special Election, as well as the District 52 Trustee Election, were also discussed.
The next Greenwood county Election Commission Board of Voter Registration meeting will be held on April 25th.
