He was a member of the Greenwood Rotary Club and was a Paul Harris Fellow.  He was a member of Lodge 91 A.F.M. and was a Hejaz Shriner, serving as past president of the Hejaz Temple.

He was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church.

Ruple Harley, III and his wife, Carol, of Ninety Six, Allison Harley Cobb and her husband, Michael, of Alpharetta, GA and Aaron Counts and his wife, Amanda, of Hermitage, TN; great grandchildren, Davis Renee Harley of Myrtle Beach, Ben Harley of Ninety Six, Kerri Jones of Greenwood, Hampton Cobb, Davis Cobb and AliGrace Cobb, all of Alpharetta, GA and a sister, Frances H. Brown of Manning.

Sincere appreciation is extended to the angels who have so lovingly cared for Mr. Harley over the past year: Doretta Sprowl, Lillie Sprowl, Arlene Morgan, and, just recently, Shirley Jones.
