Frances Cleora Chiles Steifle, 93, resident of 2511 Ninety Six Highway, widow of Jesse Oza Steifle died Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Hospice House.
Born in Bradley, February 26, 1919, she was a daughter of the late John Hearst “Tug” and Emma Monroe Chiles. Mrs. Steifle was retired from Self Memorial Hospital where she served as Dietician for many years and later retired from the Methodist Home, where she also served as Dietician. She was a member of Cedar Springs Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Steifle was preceded in death by a brother, John Hearst Chiles, Jr.
Surviviors include a son, Ernest Steifle and wife Lori of Pelzer; daughter, Eleanor Lomax of Ninety Six; grandchildren, Lisa Calliham and husband Lee with whom she made her home, Angie Hunt and husband Tony of Verdery, Chaney Wilson and husband David of Abbeville and Eric Steifle and wife Jami of Calhoun Falls; sister, Willie Ann Chiles Martin and husband Campbell of Clemson; nine great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and special friends, Barbara Donahoe and Dakota Miller.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 PM at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with Dr. Loyd Melton officiating.
