Paul M. Ballard, Sr., 92, resident of 106 Draper Street, widower of Clara Ann Pullian Ballard, died November 28, 2012, at his home.
Born October 14, 1920, in Sunnyside, WA, he was a son of the late Henry A. and Sadie Harrelson Ballard. He was a graduate of Dadeville High School in Alabama and was retired from the United States Postal Service as a rural carrier. Mr. Ballard had previously been employed with Greenwood Mills, Ninety Six Plant as a loom fixer. He was an avid stamp collector and dealer.
Mr. Ballard was a member of Cambridge United Methodist Church and was also a member of the Granny Davis/Ever Ready Sunday School Class of the church. He was a longtime choir member and had held various offices in the church.
Mr. Ballard loved and was loved by his family.
Surviving are a daughter, Jenness B. and husband Joe Morris of Easley; a son, Rev. Paul M. “Kinney”, Jr. and wife Anne Ballard of Pageland; three grandchildren, J. Leeann and husband Brent Brazier of Euless, TX, Kimberly Ballard of Charlotte, NC and Timothy Ballard of Pageland.
Graveside services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Friday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Dan Smyth and Rev. Paul M. “Kinney” Ballard, Jr. officiating.
The body is at Blyth Funeral Home and will be placed on the grave at 3:30 Friday.
The family is at the home on Draper Street and will receive friends at the cemetery immediately following the service.
