Willie Vaughn

  William C. “Willie” Vaughn, 81, of 422 Sagewood Road, husband of Jeanette Holley Vaughn, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Hospice House.

Born in Lancaster, he was a son of the late Eddie M. and Jessie Hardin Vaughn.  He was a 1949 graduate of Greenwood High School and was retired from Greenwood Motor Lines.  Willie was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a charter member of St. Mark United Methodist Church.

Surviving is his wife of the home, his daughter, Susan Ward (Rick) of Simpsonville, and his son, David Vaughn (Denise) of Stockbridge, GA.

Vaughn has six sisters, Harriet Dominick, Ruth Satterfield, Ruby Minor, Dorothy Boone, Mary Birchmore and Jo Nell Fallaw, all of Greenwood. He also has four grandchildren, Casey Vaughn, Steven Bridgland, Corinne Vaughn and Jessie Ward.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Calvin Vaughn and Milton Vaughn.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Mark United Methodist Church with the Rev. Barrett Alewine and the Rev. Ryan Spurrier officiating.  Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Harley Funeral Home on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.  The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. on Friday. The family is at the home.

Mr. Vaughn will always hold such a dear place in y heart..Working with him at Wesley Commons was the best part of the whole job...Love you Mr. Vaughn and I sure will miss my hugs..Prayers for Ms. Vaughn also

What a wonderful man. I had the opportunity to work with Mr. Willie for several years. He and his wife were such blessings in my life. I am blessed to say that Mr. Willie was a dear friend. Prayers going up for his precious wife and family.
