Bertha Neal Sullivan, 93, resident of 212 Herin Drive, widow of Curtis E. Sullivan, died August 20, 2013 at Self Regional Medical Center
Born in Anderson County, February 29, 1920, she was a daughter of the late John R. and Willie Jennings Neal. Mrs. Sullivan was formerly employed by Greenwood Mills, Durst Plant, and retired in 1982 from Kemet.
She was a Charter member of Calvary Baptist Church where she had taught in the Sunday School Department for 33 years and was a member of the church choir. Mrs. Sullivan received recognition from her church in 2000 for serving as a Sunday School teacher for a third of a century.
Surviving are three sons, Edward Wayne Sullivan of Anderson, Dennis Stanley Sullivan of Hanover, PA and Timothy Sullivan of Greenwood; seventeen grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren. Mrs. Sullivan was predeceased by a son, Steven Sullivan.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Hembree and Rev. Joseph Chapman officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be the Men of the Church.
The family will receive friends at Blyth Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 Friday evening.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to Calvary Baptist Church, Missions Fund, 2775 Montague Ave., Ext. Greenwood, SC 29649.
