Earl Hollis “Cowboy” Laughlin, Sr., 59, resident of 104 Hillside Drive, died September 12, 2013, at his home.
Born May 9, 1954, in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Newman F. and Margie Wrenn Laughlin. He was formerly employed with Rainbow Signs as a sign erector and previously had driven over-the-road trucks for numerous years.
He was of the Baptist faith and was on the original Board of Directors of The Eagle’s Nest Homes.
Surviving are a daughter, Rebecca Cox of Greenwood; three sons, Earl Hollis Laughlin, Jr. of Georgia, Wesley Kevin Laughlin of Hodges and Timothy Shane Harris of Whitmire; two brothers, Terry F. (Elizabeth) Laughlin of Hodges and Clifton Laughlin (Vickie Gorham), with whom he made his home; twelve grandchildren; and a special friend, Nancy Lovell of Hodges. He was predeceased by a sister, Sarah L. Fousek.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday at the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Reynolds and Rev. Thomas “Blue” Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mario Sepulveda, Andy “Harley” Tucker, Darin Cromer, Jeff Smallwood, Chris Cowart and Tommy Kinard.
The family is at the home on Hillside Drive and will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 Friday evening.
