Two transported following collision

Two people were transported to Self Regional Medical Center following a collision on Bypass 72 NW Friday night just after 9 p.m.

A silver four-door car rear-ended a black Monte Carlo near the intersection with Crosscreek Connector, causing traffic delays on the east-bound side of the road. Both vehicles were travelling east when the collision occurred.

Officials with the Greenwood Police Department say that two people were transported to the hospital following the collision. Officials say they do not know the extent of the victims’ injuries. GPD, Greenwood Fire Department and Greenwood County EMS responded to the scene.

Where do these comments come about speeding and texting come from? My son was driving the car, he was not texting and was not charged with speeding. Accidents happen. I am very thankful that nobody was seriously injured. People in this town are so quick to be critical. You should know all of the facts before you comment. Speeding nor texting were reported as the cause of the accident in this article.

Speed limits being reduced has nothing to do with the wrecks. People ignore the speed limits. They ignore the road laws, because the common Greenwood driver is in such a hurry to get to Starbucks or Wal-mart before they are "out of time".
