Million Dollar Band Received Superior Rating

The Ware Shoals High School Million Dollar Band has finished first place at both of its first contests.  The band competed in the Lorraine Parris Invitational at Newberry High School on September 21st where they took First place in addition to Best Music and Best Drum Major.   This past Saturday, September 28th, the band traveled to Midland Valley High School where they again received First Place as well as Best Music, Best Color Guard, Best Percussion and High Visual and High Overall Effect.

The band received its first Superior rating at this contest.  A Superior is the highest ranking a band can receive.  This Saturday the band will travel to Laurens to compete in the Henry Laurens Invitational.

These kids have worked very hard to achieve what very, very few small bands strive for: a superior rating. This is a testimonial to all the staff, students, and parents who work TOGETHER for the good of all. Ware Shoals should be proud of these kids. I want to encourage everyone to come to Laurens next week to see these outstanding young people.
